Discovering Kandinsky with ‘Art Block’ linked to the Young Peoples Arts Award
The students created their own 3D images inspired by Kandinsksy transferring this work onto a sectioned banner that will ultimately be mounted centrally within the Residential Department.
Ideas were then extended during Dance sessions using another art form to interpret his work
Modules introduced to date allow pupils to work not only with familiar staff, but also other external providers drawn from both the immediate community and across Derby City.
Pupils discuss activities offered through the School Student Council and these comments are fed back through the Derby Children’s University Youth Forum hence pupils are pro-active in their involvement at a number of levels.
The initiative brings a completely new perspective to Out of Lesson Time Learning at St Andrews Community School and has the potential to complement learning for every participant.
